Enamels on masonite board cm.44x29

This work, created using enamel on a masonite board, evokes the art of "shibari" (or kinbaku), the ancient Japanese practice of artistic rope tying, reinterpreted through an expressionist lens.

The composition employs strong chromatic contrasts: the somber tones of gray and black oppose vivid reds and whites that seem to dance across the surface, evoking intertwined ropes and emotional tensions. Fluid, irregular lines convey movement and vitality, underpinned by a restrained energy.

The artistic intent transcends erotica: here, shibari serves as a metaphor for connection, vulnerability, and trust. The visual texture suggests a dialogue between opposites: control and surrender, strength and fragility. The masonite board's solid texture adds a material dimension that heightens the sense of three-dimensionality and the interplay between freedom and restraint.

Through this work, I aim to inspire reflection on the complexity of human relationships and the beauty inherent in forms and bonds that surpass mere sensuality, resonating with deeper psychological and emotional chords.
