Enamels on masonite board cm.44x29

✨The intention was to share the profound meaning conveyed through this creation. Painted with enamels on wood, "Legami Rosso Vivido" is a celebration of kinbaku, the Japanese art of bondage, which intertwines aesthetics and connection, vulnerability and strength, creating a dialogue between body, mind, and spirit.

The red lines are the beating heart of the artwork, emulating ropes that, with care and intention, trace paths across the skin, resembling maps of emotions and desires. Their intense colour evokes blood, passion, and life itself, reflecting a delicate balance between tension and freedom. These lines were deliberately made irregular and fluid, as if still dancing across the body of the imagined subject. They are never perfectly linear, because the relationship between the one who ties and the one who is tied is never entirely predictable: it is a living dialogue, an act of mutual trust.
The grey background represents neutrality, a blank space where the red ropes emerge vividly, in stark contrast to the calm. This juxtaposition invites reflection: the ropes do not imprison but embellish, defining the contours of the invisible figure concealed within each binding.
The golden reflections running through the piece add a touch of sacredness. They aim to represent the intrinsic beauty in the act of binding itself, an art that is not merely physical but deeply emotional, a practice celebrating imperfect beauty and self-acceptance, aligning with the philosophy of wabi-sabi.
Finally, the white strokes running through the piece act as breaths, pauses in the rhythmic intensity of the bindings. They create a sense of lightness, inviting the viewer to engage with the work not just with their eyes but with their soul, allowing themselves to be enveloped by the emotions it evokes.
"Legami Rosso Vivido" is, therefore, an homage to the intimacy and aesthetics of the art of kinbaku, a celebration of bonds that, paradoxically, liberate the truest essence of the human spirit.
